Kitty Chaos is a small demo of a cozy, physics-driven kitten adventure.

Play as a curious little kitten exploring your home, collecting trinkets, playing with toys, and causing a little bit of mischief along the way.

This early demo includes:

- A playable home environment (Den, Hallway, Living Room)

- Collectable trinkets

- A toy delivery system

- A trophy blanket to discover

- A simple progression loop

Controls:

A / D – Move

Space – Jump

F – Interact / Pick up

Shift – Run

Ctrl – Sneak

Goal:

Collect the 3 trinkets, return the toy ball to the den, and find the trophy blanket. Then head to the front door to finish the demo.

This is an early prototype, so expect some rough edges — but I’d love any feedback!

Devlog #1 – From Idea to First Demo

Kitty Chaos started as a simple idea: a game where you play as a small kitten exploring a house that feels huge from your perspective. What began as a small idea slowly turned into a much bigger project once I started learning how to use Unity and what it actually takes to build a game as a solo developer.

I began working on this project seriously around October, when I decided to try and turn game development into something more than just an idea. November and December were spent learning the basics of Unity, C#, and how game objects, physics, and scenes work. During this time I built my first basic character controller and started experimenting with movement and interactions.

At the end of December, I ran into some major problems and lost a large amount of work due to project issues that I didn’t yet know how to fix. That was a difficult moment, but instead of quitting I used the time to learn more about the other parts of game development, especially art, which was one of the biggest challenges for me at the start.

In January and early February I focused on learning how to create the art style for the game and figuring out whether it was possible for me to handle both the development and art side as a solo developer. Once I felt more confident about that, I returned to Unity and began rebuilding the project from scratch, this time with a much better understanding of what I was doing.

March was when everything finally started to come together. I built the den (the kitten’s home area), the hallway level, collectable items, interactions, and the basic gameplay loop of exploring, collecting items, and returning them to the den.

This demo is the result of several months of learning, rebuilding, and figuring things out as I went. It’s a small slice of the planned game, but it represents the foundation of what Kitty Chaos will become.

Thank you for playing the demo and supporting the project — this is just the beginning.
